Software Development
Software that adapts to your business — not the other way round.
We build custom web applications, SaaS platforms and native apps for iOS and Android. From the first sketch through production to ongoing development — on servers in Germany, with automated tests, proper documentation and a team that still supports the result afterwards.
Overview
When off-the-shelf software starts dictating your processes.
Standard software covers the standard case. The moment your workflow differs from it, you pay that difference every single day — in manual work, workarounds and spreadsheets kept alongside the actual system.
Custom software is not the right answer everywhere. For accounting, office work and classic CRM there are mature products off the shelf, and we will tell you plainly when one of them is the better choice. Building your own pays off where a process is your differentiator, where data from several systems has to be combined in a way nobody else combines it, where per-seat licence costs get out of hand as you grow — or where your data simply must not sit on someone else servers.
When it does pay off, we do not build blindly. We scope a first release that is genuinely usable in production, put it in front of real users and develop onwards from there in short cycles. Every version is tested, documented and deployable — not just the last one. That way you see early whether the direction is right, instead of facing a finished product at the end that was built past the actual need.
What we build
Four fields, one coherent stack.
These four areas are not separate offerings; they interlock. A real project usually combines a web application, an app and several interfaces into a system that feels like a single application to the user.
Custom software & SaaS platforms
Web applications that reflect your process instead of replacing it — from the internal line-of-business tool and the customer portal through to a multi-tenant SaaS platform with subscription billing, a role system and self-service onboarding.
- Multi-tenancy with clean data separation down to the database level
- Subscription and payment handling including invoices, SEPA direct debit and partner payouts
- Roles, permissions and complete audit trails for processes that must stand up to review
Native apps for iOS and Android
Real applications published in the App Store and on Google Play — with push notifications, offline use, biometrics, camera and calendar access and in-app purchases. Not a website wrapped in a shell, but an app that actually feels like one on the device.
- One team for backend, web and app — no break between the platforms
- Push notifications, offline operation and access to camera, calendar and files
- Store submission, guidance through review and release management included
System integration & interfaces
Most projects do not fail at the interface, they fail at the systems behind it. We connect ERP, accounting, Microsoft 365, ticketing systems and industry portals — and automate where a vendor provides no interface at all.
- Connections to ERP, accounting, Microsoft 365, ticketing systems and industry portals
- Two-way calendar and contact sync, mail, document and import pipelines
- Robust error handling with retries, idempotency and traceable logs
Modernisation & ongoing development
Not every project starts from scratch. We take on applications that have grown over years, bring them to a current, maintainable state and keep developing them — without stopping day-to-day operations to do it.
- A review of code, dependencies and security posture before the first change
- Step-by-step replacement instead of a risky rewrite, secured by tests
- Handover to your team or permanent support — your decision, not the contract
Technology
A deliberately lean stack that others can maintain too.
We rely on a few mature tools rather than the trend of the quarter. That keeps the application fast, maintenance affordable and your future open.
Our backbone is Laravel and PHP for the application logic, PostgreSQL or MySQL for the data, and a server-rendered frontend with Tailwind CSS, enriched with JavaScript exactly where interaction genuinely calls for it. The result is pages that are there instantly, are read in full by search engines and need no heavy frontend framework. For background work — imports, bulk sending, image and video processing, synchronisation — we use queues, so the interface stays fast even when a lot is happening behind it.
Native apps are built as standalone iOS and Android applications from a shared codebase and talk to the same interface as the web frontend — one source of truth, not a second set of data. Where artificial intelligence adds real value we integrate it deliberately: full-text and vector search, document extraction, or an assistant that answers exclusively from your own, verifiable data.
Our standard stack
- Laravel and PHP, PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis for queues and caching
- Server-rendered frontend with Tailwind CSS — fast, search-engine friendly, low maintenance
- Native iOS and Android apps from a shared codebase
- Automated tests, one-click deployment, monitoring from day one
- Operated in German data centres, fully self-hosted on request
How we work
Four steps to a production application.
An approach that delivers something visible early and removes risk where it actually arises — in the assumptions at the start, not at the sign-off at the end.
Discovery & proposal
We listen, look at your existing systems and workflows and scope the work so that a first usable release stands within weeks rather than quarters. For that you get a firm fixed-price proposal.
Prototype & alignment
Before we build logic, you see clickable screens. Changes cost minutes here instead of weeks — this is where it becomes clear whether we have the same picture in mind.
Delivery in short cycles
Every one to two weeks a visible state on a test environment that you can operate yourself. We work test-driven and ship every version ready to deploy.
Operations & ongoing development
We take on deployment, monitoring, updates and security patches — or hand over to your team, properly documented. Further development as needed, not as a contract term.
Quality & operations
What matters after handover.
The difference between an application that carries you for three years and one that stalls after the first update is not made in the design — it is made in what you cannot see from the outside.
Automated tests
Every application gets a test suite covering the critical paths — up to tests that run a complete payment flow through a real browser.
Deployment without drama
Scripted deployment, versioned database migrations, a defined way back. A release is a matter of minutes, not an evening on standby.
Monitoring & error visibility
We see errors before your users call: structured logs, error reports with context, and metrics on queues and response times.
Security from the start
Role-based permissions, rate limiting, secure HTTP headers, encrypted connections and regularly updated dependencies — built in, not bolted on.
Accessibility
Contrast, full keyboard operation and screen reader support to WCAG. For many companies this is no longer optional under the European Accessibility Act.
Documentation & handover
Readable code, documented architecture decisions and operating instructions. You stay able to act — with or without us.
Hosting & data protection
Your software runs where you want it to — in Germany.
We run applications on servers and object storage from German providers — in data centres located in Germany, operated by companies headquartered in Germany. Database and authentication services are self-hosted on request instead of using a US vendor, and embed fonts, maps and libraries locally rather than pulling them from third-party networks on every page load. On request, the entire application runs in your own data centre.
This is the distinction that matters: GDPR-compliant means having the right documents. GDPR-secure means operating an infrastructure where access by US authorities under the Cloud Act is technically impossible in the first place. An EU data centre run by a US corporation is not enough — what counts is the operator company headquarters and corporate structure. For our clients in healthcare and public administration this is the default, not the exception.
Example projects
What this looks like in practice.
Three anonymised projects from different sectors — concrete rather than vague, so you can judge the scale we work at.
SaaS platform for a healthcare profession
Multi-tenant practice software with appointment booking, digital client records, invoicing, video consultation and companion apps for practitioners and clients. Plus subscription billing, payouts to the affiliated practices and two-way calendar sync with Google and Microsoft. Database and object storage are self-hosted in Germany.
Line-of-business application for telecoms and administration
Management of customer accounts, phone numbers, devices and cost centres with automated invoice import and connections to ERP, ticketing and carrier portals. Where the provider offers no interface, a controlled browser automation performs the entries. Complemented by a customer portal and an app for employee self-service.
Consumer platform with app and subscriptions
A multilingual content platform with real-time search across hundreds of thousands of entries, search-optimised topic clusters, subscription billing on the web and through the app stores, and a native app in continuous store delivery. AI here prepares and enriches existing content — it does not invent it.
Have a project that no off-the-shelf product covers?
Tell us about it. We will give you an honest view of whether building your own is worth it, roughly what scale it sits at and what a first usable release could look like — no obligation, no sales pressure.
