App Development

Apps for iOS and Android — from the first draft to the store.

We build native apps that form one system with your web application: the same accounts, the same data, one team for both. From the first sketch through review by Apple and Google to updates for new operating system versions — with backend and data on servers in Germany.

Apps for iOS and Android — from the first draft to the store.

Overview

An app pays off when the device is part of the process.

An app takes more effort than a web application: two platforms, two stores, a review before every release and new requirements from Apple and Google every year. That effort has to be worth it.

We will tell you plainly when a well-built web application is enough — it runs in the browser on a phone as well and needs no approval. An app of your own pays off when your users work on the move and need to keep going without a connection, when the camera, location, calendar or fingerprint sign-in are part of the workflow, when push notifications should trigger appointments, tasks or approvals — or when your offering needs to be found in the App Store and on Google Play.

When it does pay off, we do not build the app as an island. It talks to the same interface as your web front end and uses the same accounts, permissions and data — one source of truth, not a second data set. We develop in short cycles, and you install interim versions on your own device early, long before the app goes into the store.

What we build

Four kinds of apps, one foundation.

Whether your customers, your team or a wide audience use the app, the same thing always sits underneath: one interface, one permission system and data that is also needed on the web and in your other systems.

01

Apps for your platform

The app for the users of your web application or SaaS platform: appointments, messages, documents and approvals on the move — with the same accounts and data as on the web, without maintaining anything twice.

  • Sign-in with the same account and the same roles and permissions as in the web front end
  • Push notifications for new appointments, messages or tasks
  • Multilingual, with links from emails straight to the right place in the app
02

Apps for your team

Tools for staff on the move and on site: capture, look things up, sign off and submit requests without opening a laptop first.

  • Capture photos, videos and voice recordings right where the work happens
  • Signatures on the display and QR code scanning
  • Self-service for contracts, devices and requests instead of back-and-forth by email
03

Apps for consumers

Apps that are found, downloaded and bought in the App Store and on Google Play — with subscriptions and in-app purchases that match your billing on the web.

  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases via the App Store and Google Play, aligned with the web
  • Store listings with screenshots and copy in several languages
  • Rating requests through the feature the stores provide for it, at the right moment
04

Apps for sensitive data

For healthcare, consulting and public administration: apps that handle confidential information — and take that seriously on the device as well.

  • Sign-in with Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint
  • Credentials in the protected storage of the device rather than in plain text
  • Protection against screenshots in confidential views where needed

Technology

On iPhone and Android at the same time.

Your app launches on iPhone and Android at the same time and with the same features — as a standalone app in the App Store and on Google Play, not a website in an app frame.

For you this means one point of contact and one schedule for both platforms. New features and fixes arrive on both platforms with the same version — neither falls behind the other. Where iOS and Android have different rules — for permissions, payment flows or interaction patterns — we implement them deliberately per platform. The app uses the camera, biometrics, calendar, location and files like any other app on the device.

The app talks to the same interface as your web front end. Sign-in, permissions and data come from one system: whatever is changed on the web, the app sees on its next request, and vice versa. If an old app version no longer matches the interface, it asks for an update instead of carrying on with errors.

At a glance

  • For iPhone and Android, with the same features on both platforms
  • The same interface and the same accounts as your web application
  • Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint, credentials in protected device storage
  • Push notifications, links straight into the app, camera, files, calendar and location
  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases via the App Store and Google Play
  • New versions go to both stores automatically and tested

How we work

Four steps into the store.

An app is only finished when it is in the store and running on real devices. That is why we plan for review, approval and updates from the start.

01

Discovery & proposal

We work out which workflows belong in the app and which are better served on the web, and scope a first release that holds up in everyday use. You receive a reliable fixed-price proposal for it.

02

Clickable draft

Before we write code, you see the key screens as a clickable draft — on your own phone too. Changes cost minutes here instead of weeks.

03

Test builds in short cycles

Every one to two weeks a new build that you install yourself via TestFlight or the Google Play testing track. You see progress where the app will later run.

04

Release & operation

We prepare store listings and privacy details, guide the app through review by Apple and Google and keep it current afterwards — with updates for new iOS and Android versions.

Quality & operations

What counts after launch.

An app is never finished once and for all: Apple and Google change their requirements every year, devices and operating systems move on. An app has to be built to be maintained.

Automated tests

Critical flows such as sign-in, purchase and data sync are secured by tests that run on every change — before a version reaches your users.

Current in the store

New minimum requirements from the stores, new operating system versions, interfaces being retired: we keep your app up to date so that it stays in the store and runs on new devices.

Security on the device

Encrypted connections, credentials in protected storage and biometrics wherever confidential data is involved — built in, not bolted on.

Accessibility

Large text, sufficient contrast and operation with VoiceOver and TalkBack. For many consumer apps this is no longer optional under the European Accessibility Act.

Privacy details that are accurate

The App Store and Google Play require details on which data an app collects. We derive them from what the app actually does and keep them current with every change.

Your account, your code

On request, the app is published under your own developer account with Apple and Google. Source code, build instructions and documentation are included — you stay in control, even without us.

Hosting & data protection

Data in Germany — and straight talk about Apple and Google.

The accounts, content and files of your app are stored on servers of German providers in data centres in Germany — on the same infrastructure as our web applications and, on request, entirely self-hosted. For push notifications we use, on request, a provider headquartered in Germany.

To be clear: every app relies on the infrastructure of Apple and Google. Distribution through the stores, purchases in the app and the delivery of push notifications to the device run through their services. This part cannot be operated GDPR-secure, only GDPR-compliant. We therefore design the app so that as little personal data as possible flows through these channels, and we tell you exactly which data goes where.

Example projects

Three apps, three starting points.

Anonymised projects in which the app is part of a larger system — specific rather than vague, so that you can judge how we work.

01

App for practice management software

One app with two roles for multi-tenant practice management software. Clients book appointments, message their practice, read documents and sign them on the device; practitioners keep track of appointments, clients and messages on the move. Biometric sign-in, subscription via the app stores, multilingual, data self-hosted in Germany.

02

Self-service app for a line-of-business application

A line-of-business application for telecommunications and administration comes with an app in which staff view their phone numbers and contracts, request devices from a catalogue, submit requests and receive replies as messages — without detours via email or phone.

03

Consumer app with a subscription model

A native app for a multilingual content platform with real-time search across hundreds of thousands of entries. Subscriptions run through the App Store and Google Play and match the billing on the web; new versions ship to the stores continuously.

Wondering whether your project needs an app?

Tell us about it. We will tell you honestly whether an app is the right route or a web application is enough, what order of magnitude the project is and what a first release in the store could look like — without obligation and without sales pressure.
